We are currently looking for an Audit and Accounts Semi Senior Accountant with at least 18 months experience in a general accountancy practice to include that of audit and general accounts preparation and taxation work. You should be a self-starter and willing and committed to develop himself/herself to the position of a Senior Accountant in the future with a view to joining the management team in the long term. In addition to functioning in the role of a semi senior in auditing, accounting and tax, the chosen candidate is expected to maintain healthy client relations with the assigned client portfolio and build on these.

The semi senior role requires an excellent command in written and spoken English. The role involves dealing with local and national clients of all sizes and industries. Candidates who have at least 18 months experience in a similar role at an accountancy practice, ideally in and audit environment are encouraged to apply.

On offer is an ACCA/ICAEW training contract to help you complete your exams and qualify as a Chartered Accountant.
The role entails the following:
• Attending and assisting with audits including that of planning and field work and stock take
• Bookkeeping and preparation of VAT returns
• Management accounts preparation
• Preparation of forecasts
• Year-end statutory accounts preparation in caseware
• Preparation of personal and corporation tax returns for individuals and companies
• Attending and assisting with audits including that of planning and field work and stock take
• Payroll preparation for weekly and monthly payrolls
• The following IT skills are expected, Advanced Knowledge in MS Excel. Good working knowledge but not essential in all the main accounting/book keeping packages such as sage, xero, Kashflow, Knowledge in VT, winforecast, BTC, caseware and Money soft software packages would be beneficial.
