Shokat Zaman

Director

I am a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). I have over 30 years of experience in audit, tax and advisory with the ‘Big 4’ and ‘Top 10’ accounting firms making up 10 years of the experience. I am a well experienced all round accountant with specific advisory experience in a variety of industry sectors including retail, manufacturing and wholesale, property and landlord including development appraisals, online and care businesses. Other specialisms include advisory and compliance and audit services to Solicitors (including SRA reporting requirements), Charities, and ATOL protected travel agents and Housing Associations including Registered Social Landlords. A Chartered Accountant who is appraised by his clients to “Listen”, “Think” then “Create” appropriate solutions for all types of owner managed businesses. I am often referred to as a life-style planner guiding clients through a number of strategies including that of corporate restructuring, tax planning and profit extraction mechanisms to help achieve the set targets. Outside of work I enjoy playing a round of golf with my friends and attending my taekwondo and tai-chi martial arts classes. I also run a children’s charity for orphans ensuring I give every child in my care the very best opportunity in life.

Associate Director

Coming onto my 10^th year at Fraser Russell, I play a key leadership role in managing and overseeing accounting, tax, and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of the firm’s client. I work closely with senior management to drive business development, ensure compliance with UK regulations, and deliver exceptional client service. I am often referred to the wonder woman due to my ability to motivate my team and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines ensuring clients are always provided an exceptional service. Outside of work, I enjoy running and currently training for the next London marathon.

Senior Accountant

Due to my hard work and excellent work ethics, I have been recently promoted to a Senior Accountant. I have gained a large amount of knowledge and experience in working with SME’s and with solicitor SAR audits. I oversee the preparation of financial statements, tax, audit and advisory work coupled with managing client relations. Often seen as the linchpin in the office bridging technical expertise and client facing responsibilities. To help me relax, in my spare time I watch movies & enjoy cooking different cuisines.

Semi Senior Accountant

I have worked my way up from being an apprentice/junior to now looking to become a fully chartered accountant from the ICAEW very soon. I enjoy working closely with my clients and identifying ways of how to save them tax and make their businesses more profitable. I am also a qualified swimming teacher and work at my local swimming baths on Saturday mornings teaching young children and adults how to swim. I am most definitely a foodie!! I love eating out and trying new dishes/restaurants.

Office Coordinator

I am excited to introduce myself as the new Office Coordinator for Fraser Russell. With a focus on organization, efficiency, and client satisfaction, my role is to ensure that our day-to-day operations run seamlessly, allowing our team of skilled accountants to concentrate on delivering exceptional financial services.

Senior Accountant

I am the leader of our payroll team having joined the firm 3 years ago. I have over 5 years of payroll experience and have been the driving force behind the firm’s development of our payroll offering. I have brought a new dimension to the firm in terms of systems and processes efficiencies which has allowed the business to expand its payroll reach as well as improve the experience for our clients. When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going running and when time allows, getting away on holiday.

Senior Accountant

I am qualified by experience. I trained training with a firm of Chartered Accountants prior to joining a firm of Chartered Surveyors as a Finance and Client Accounts Manager. My experience within both small and large organisations has provided me with a wealth of first-hand insight into business management/operation/finance to a senior level and having a keen interest in the beneficial use of IT systems and business software, I am the firm’s IT expert in term of assisting the audit team with detailed data reviews, systems and pulling out information to help them add value to our clients. I am often call the Senior Digital Accountant. Outside of work I enjoy hillwalking and fishing.

Senior Accountant

The focus of my work is the audit of corporate and charitable companies of all sizes. My experience gained has been across a wide range of corporate clients including charities operating through complex business structures. I focus on adding value to my clients through my work. When required, I am also involved in preparing company accounts for smaller businesses and preparing self-assessment returns for individuals. When I am not working, you will usually find me reading a book or catching up on new tv shows. If I do venture outdoors, it is usually to visit a local zoo with my fiancée.

Senior Accountant

I am an overseas member of staff and working as a Senior Accountant at Fraser Russell. My role includes efficiently recording financial transactions, which entails preparing source documents for all client’s businesses transactions and operations, as well as handling VAT preparation and conducting financial analysis to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. In my leisure time, I find pleasure in reading, listening to music and like to travel.

Tax Consultant

A Tax Consultant with significant experience in advising and working with ambitious entrepreneurs and privately owned businesses to navigate them through UK tax law, having worked at top 50 accountancy practices in the UK. My area of expertise is on shareholder tax matters with a strong focus on exit and succession planning through a client’s life cycle, hence I am often known as the “Life Style Planner” of my clients. In addition, I have extensive experience of tax investigations and other issues. I adopt a non-judgemental approach and considers each tax issue merely a problem to resolve which I do with a mixture of technical ability and insight in to the workings of HMRC. Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the movies and going on holiday.

Head of Credit Control

I love working here at Fraser Russell, as Head of Credit Control my role can be quite demanding at times. I am sympathetic to my clients when arranging payment plans, I would say I am ‘fair but firm’. I enjoy going for country walks with my friends and doing going to my yoga classes twice a week.

Trainee Accountant

In the years I have worked at the firm, I have learnt a wealth of information which has enabled me to give my clients an excellent customer service. I enjoy all aspects of my role including vat returns, tax returns, payroll and even photocopying and filing. Outside of work I am an avid boxing fan and enjoy spending time at coffee lounges with my friends.
